Technology in the Classroom

Technology in language isn’t new now, technology in language as CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning).  The activities of CALL such as text reconstruction, where an entire text is blanked out and the learner recreates it by typing in words. ICT has become more widespread, so CALL beyond the use of computer programs to embrace the use of the Internet and web-based tools. Here are many reasons why ICT become a part of EFL :
·         Internet access is available for leaners.
·         Younger learners are growing up with technology.
·         English, as international language.
·         Technology presents us new opportunities for authentic tasks and materials.
·         To communicate learners who are geographically dispersed.
·         Offered with published materials.
·         Increasingly language  schools to integrate technology into teaching.
·         Technolopgy offers new ways for practising and assessing performance.
·         Technology becoming mobile.
·         Give learners exposure to and practice in all of four main language skills.
Term of technophobe refer to those who might bewary of theses new development. Term of digital native refer to someone who grows up using technology, and who thus feels comfortable and confidentwith it-typically.  Digital immigrants, who have come late to the world of technology. The basic skills that you need is how to use a simple word processing program (e.g. Microsoft Word). You need some essential eqiupment the most out of this book to start to implement technology. Teaching context and teacher’s access to computers and technology can very widely. The central area provides  an easily accessible space,it may be possible to make small changes in the works environment .
